The Inns of Court PDF Print E-mail

Believe it or not, right in the heart of London you can find tranquillity that even some lifelong Londoners know nothing about. The four Inns of Court – Inner Temple, Middle Temple, Gray’s Inn and Lincoln’s Inn – are the workplace of prestigious London lawyers. However, in the midst of the beautiful listed building, you can find a maze of green quads and cobbles, paths, trees and benches open to the public.

The low-profile of the Inns make them something of a sanctuary for when the weight of London gets on top of you (and it does, even if you’ve never lived elsewhere). Bring a textbook and your sunglasses out here in the summer and you’ll find a place to revise free from noisy flatmates. And if you happen to be studying one of Dickens’ novels, you’ll find yourself sitting in the very place that much of the legal action takes place.
