Newsflash

On my first day at my new post, a gym teacher gave me a tour around school. I had a feeling he was undressing me with his eyes, but without physical contact I pushed my anxiousness aside. When we reached an abandoned section, he told me I needed to relax. He began massaging my shoulders and told me that I needed to work out, pointing to my behind. When he grabbed it, I turned and ran back to the main office.

national_gallery.jpgThe National Gallery on the north edge of Trafalgar Square is home to one of the foremost collections of Western European art in the world. Over 2,000 works of art hang on these walls and you can absorb an incredible breadth of art covering more than 700 years as you walk through these huge halls.

Right next door to this famous museum sits the equally imposing National Portrait Gallery. Even before you enter its vast doors you can stand on the balcony, sandwiched between enormous stone columns, looking out over Trafalgar Square. Crowds of people flock in and out, but relatively few take the time to stop and take in one of London’s busiest areas from this position. Enjoy it while others miss out.

The gallery itself is every bit as impressive as its twin and both come highly recommended.
