We will freely admit, we’re not the biggest fans of Madame Tussauds – however such is the immense popularity of this attraction with most other people we speak to, it would be unfair if we left it out. To be sure, the ability of the sculptors and the realism of the waxworks leaves you speechless. But if you want to go, do be prepared for long queues and heavy lashings of celebrity inside.

Still, once you get inside you can lose yourself in a fantasy world of luxury and fame, with the opportunity to do everything from hanging out in the Big Brother Diary Room to having your photo taken with Kate Moss. And if you’re after a little more surreal substance, you can see the admittedly incredible sight of Freddie Mercury and Bob Marley as if they were there, performing in the flesh right in front of you.
