When we reached an abandoned section, he told me I needed to relax. He began massaging my shoulders and told me that I needed to work out, pointing to my behind. tower-bridge.jpgThe iconic bridge over the Thames with the soaring buildings is Tower Bridge and not London Bridge as is sometimes thought.

A popular story surrounding Tower Bridge concerns the American oil magnate, Robert McCulloch, who bought the old London Bridge in 1968. He supposedly thought he was purchasing Tower Bridge instead, although he denied this (well, he would – that would be too embarrassing to admit!). Either way, it proved a smart move – his London Bridge is now the second-most popular tourist attraction in Arizona in the USA, bettered only by the Grand Canyon.

Nowadays, apart from its impressive appearance, we love Tower Bridge for the views it gives you over London. The walkways suspended between the two towers (despite these, the bridge takes its name from the nearby Tower of London) are open to the public and are highly recommended.
