Newsflash

On my first day at my new post, a gym teacher gave me a tour around school. I had a feeling he was undressing me with his eyes, but without physical contact I pushed my anxiousness aside. When we reached an abandoned section, he told me I needed to relax. He began massaging my shoulders and told me that I needed to work out, pointing to my behind. When he grabbed it, I turned and ran back to the main office.

Cinemas in Leicester Square, in the buzzing centre of London’s up-market West End, are the location of choice for glitzy premieres with Hollywood’s finest in attendance. They are also really rather expensive. All of them, that is, except for the brilliant little Prince Charles Cinema.
Located just off the square itself, the PCC (as it likes to call itself sometimes) offers a mixture of Hollywood blockbusters and challenging independent cinema … with tickets starting at an astonishing £1.50! Even now we’re not sure how they manage this, but they’ve been on the same site since 1991 and every showing is regularly sold out to a loyal base of customers and those trying to find something new.
A great theatre-style auditorium (the building used to be a theatre), a fully stocked bar and film events that inspire debate or encompass other presentations combine to make this teeny cinema worth the weight of all its gigantic neighbours put together. This is a real London discovery, waiting to be made.
