Located on Elystan Street, half-way between the King’s Road and Fulham Road in fashionable (and expensive) Chelsea, Aikens is Tom Aikens’ Michelinstarred modern French restaurant.
A finely proportioned and extremely comfortable dining room provides the setting for food which is at once exquisite and bizarre. Each course from an imaginative and sometimes deliciously wicked (an occasional offering is rabbit served with whole baby carrots – when presented with it you cannot help a wry smile) menu is preceded by a collection of test tubes and the like filled with mousses, foams, jellies and compotes. Remarkable but peculiar, the chef is certainly one for experimenting.
